KTP Case Studies

  1. MMU and ValueWorks
    MMU and ValueWorks (http://www.valueworks.co.uk)  worked together on an extremely successful KTP.  ValueWorks, based in Wigan, Lancashire, provide unique on-demand eProcurement and Supply Chain web-based software solutions for public and private sectors across a range of sectors.  The collaboration helped develop an award winning software solution>
    (More Information) to aid in this process. The software produced exploited academic expertise in web based development and Java software production. The company benefitted from the input of University expertise in the production of its software, and the University benefitted from real case study material, guest lectures and involvement in the commercial sector on a crucial software project. The company and students at the University also benefitted from contact with the university in terms of placements and full time employment at the end of their studies.
  2. MMU and Tyrrell Systems
    MMU and Tyrrell Systems of Leigh, Lancashire (http://www.tyrrellsystems.com) are currently working on the design and development of a web-based solution for building systems and facilities management. This will increase business profitability of customers, using real-time data and enterprise level connectivity. The project is exploiting expertise within the School on web based and java software solutions, as well as mobile device technology. Benefits to the company and the university are again wide ranging in terms of expertise exchanged, employment opportunities for ex-students and software development in a novel field of expertise.
